What this session will cover

A specialist panel composed of US and UK expert sanctions lawyers, chaired by a former High Court Judge, will discuss legal developments in the UK sanctions sector, and the wider impact of geopolitical events in the US, the EU, India…

The Panel will discuss how the sanctions landscape has already evolved, and will continue to evolve in light of political developments in the US, the EU, Asia Pacific and beyond. There will be a discussion of recent decisions in the UK Courts (including the Supreme Court appeals in Mints and Dalston Projects), an update on OFSI and OTIS’s approach to enforcement, and an exploration of how sanctions regimes and trade controls might develop in response to geopolitical challenges. This will be accompanied by an in-house perspective as to how banks are responding to the challenges faced by the complexity of overlapping global sanction regimes.
