What this session will cover
Using a series of real-world case studies, this event will illustrate the hurdles and successes in international asset recovery. Our panel will draw on their past experiences enforcing judgments and awards and how recoveries were made.
Please join us at London International Disputes Week for an insightful panel discussion featuring leading civil fraud lawyers and jurisdictional experts from around the globe.
This session will explore the complex realities of cross-border asset recovery in the aftermath of fraud. Drawing on real-world case studies, our expert panel will delve into the legal, commercial, and practical challenges of enforcing international judgments against parties who go to great lengths to conceal assets or frustrate enforcement efforts.
With themes such as the reputational and non-legal options available to creditors, limitations of enforcement mechanisms in key jurisdictions, and the increasing use of sovereign immunity to shield assets, this discussion will move beyond the textbook to the trenches.
This is not a standard case study session. Instead, the panel will use high-level, anonymised scenarios to drive an interactive and dynamic discussion on how legal teams can adapt their strategies to stay ahead of bad actors in global enforcement.
