What this session will cover
Offshore/onshore litigation often demands coordination between teams of lawyers split across multiple jurisdictions. Parallel or related proceedings across different forums are common, particularly in civil fraud, asset tracing, and insolvency disputes. Teams must often be assembled at short notice and work together effectively, often under tight time constraints.
This panel discussion pulls together practitioners experienced in working on, and running, matters spanning the Caribbean, the Channel Islands, and beyond, for global clients. It will give a practical overview of some of the common issues faced by multi-jurisdictional teams and how best to resolve them. Topics for discussion will include some best-practice around; instructing offshore Lawyers and what they will expect and need; what onshore lawyers can expect from offshore lawyers and courts; communicating with colleagues and clients throughout a case; and more generally how best to run a case smoothly as part of an expanded legal team.
Walkers Global will join Gatehouse Chambers, Blake Morgan and Ogier for the panel discussion.
The panel discussion will be followed by a drinks reception.
